Appointment of new Commissioner
The Australian Skills Quality Authority welcomes the appointment of Mark Paterson AO as its Commissioner for Regulatory Operations, which was announced today by the Minister for Vocational Education and Skills, Senator the Hon Scott Ryan.
ASQA Chief Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, Chris Robinson, said Mr Paterson’s government and industry experience would further enhance the authority’s regulation of the vocational education and training sector.
Mr Paterson joins the Chief Commissioner and the Commissioner, Risk Intelligence and Regulatory Support, Professor Michael Lavarch AO, as the authority’s three statutory officers.
Mr Paterson will be based in ASQA’s Sydney office and is expected to start in his position by the end of the month.
His appointment follows the retirement of Dr Dianne Orr.
