Self-assurance
ASQA is taking a staged approach to promoting a culture of self-assurance and continuous improvement, to support improved training outcomes in the VET sector. This work is part of a suite of VET quality reforms aiming to improve training outcomes for students and employers.
A key milestone in transitioning the VET sector to one in which RTOs systematically monitor, evaluate and continuously improve the training outcomes they achieve and manage risk to quality, will be the implementation of revised quality standards for registered training organisations (RTOs).
Defining self-assurance
Self-assurance refers to how providers manage their operations to ensure a focus on quality, continuous improvement and ongoing compliance with standards. This involves providers having systems in place to critically examine their performance against the standards and training outcomes, on an ongoing basis, to meet obligations and identify ways to continuously improve and treat risk.
