Preparing for the revised Standards
The Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) has published the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator (Outcome Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations) Instrument 2025 and the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator (Compliance Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations and Fit and Proper Person Requirements) Instrument 2025 on the Federal Register and the Credential Policy on the National Register, training.gov.au.

All providers will be required to meet the revised Standards from 1 July 2025.
DEWR has developed and released Policy Guidance to support training providers, trainers and assessors in understanding the intent behind changes to the revised Standards.
Ahead of releasing a full suite of guidance materials, ASQA’s Preparing for the revised Standards has been made available. This document outlines areas to consider when assessing and self-assuring your operations against the revised Standards. The content in this document was developed prior to the release of legislative instruments and should therefore be read in conjunction with the legislation to ensure currency. This document will be retired once all draft Practice Guides are published.
To provide the sector an opportunity for feedback we have published draft Practice Guides ahead of the revised Standards coming into full regulatory effect from 1 July 2025.
