ASQA to formalise '90-day period' for ESOS renewal applications
Under ASQA’s established practice, providers registered by ASQA under the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000 must submit applications to renew their registration at least 90 days before their registration is due to expire. A provider cannot submit a renewal application less than 90 days prior to its expiry date without ASQA’s prior approval.
ASQA intends to formalise this well-established business rule with a legislative instrument.
ASQA invites feedback from ESOS registered providers and other stakeholders on the drafting of this instrument and explanatory statement. ASQA will consider all submissions before determining the instrument to be registered on the Federal Register of Legislation.
Note that registering this legislative instrument will result in no practical changes to ASQA’s current processes for renewal of ESOS registration for providers that submit and pay for renewal applications at least 90 days before they are due to expire.
Please submit your feedback by emailing risk@asqa.gov.au before close of business on 1 March 2019.
