Practice Guides

ASQA is developing Practice Guides to support providers’ understanding of our regulatory expectations against the revised Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). ASQA’s Practice Guides are aligned to the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relation's (DEWR) Outcome Standards Policy Guidance, and these resources should be read together.

ASQA’s Practice Guides:

  • provide examples of actions providers might wish to consider and other relevant factors for demonstrating compliance with each Standard
  • provide examples of known risks to quality outcomes
  • include self-assurance questions for RTOs to consider when measuring their performance against the Standards.
     

Practice Guides are published below as drafts to provide the sector an opportunity for feedback ahead of the revised Standards coming into full regulatory effect from 1 July 2025. 

Practice Guides will be published in tranches on this page over the coming months, with the first four now available below.
