Further red tape reduction for training providers

3 October 2014

In a further effort to reduce its regulatory burden, the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) will waive the fee payable by training providers when applying to change course duration details on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).

An application to change the timeframe duration of an existing course as published on CRICOS has previously been charged the same fee as a new course registration. This fee starts at $1400.

A number of administrative changes have occurred in the regulation of CRICOS providers over the past three years. A key change has been the implementation of national CRICOS registration leading to courses being registered once only for each provider rather than separate registrations in each state or territory where the course is delivered.

For more information on this initiative, call ASQA’s Info line on 1300 701 801.
