New resources available - Training and assessment in the workplace
The impact of COVID-19 has seen many providers change their delivery practices to keep students and staff safe, while continuing to offer quality training and assessment. We are supporting providers to adapt by publishing new resources in response to their feedback.
Provider feedback expressed that, while many training products or components of training products can be easily adapted to online or distance delivery, there has been difficulty in undertaking practical assessment in situations where workplace assessment or work placement are traditionally used.
To help providers interpret training package requirements and understand where flexibility exists to provide training or assessment in simulated environments, we’ve developed video guidance, examples, and some top tips.
The Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) Emergency Response Sub-Committee has also released a statement providing advice about mandatory workplace requirements, with specific updates about the existing flexibilities in some training packages.
These resources supplement previously published advice to providers who have transitioned, or are considering transitioning, to offer some or all their training by distance.
