ASQA to host 27 briefings to inform, educate
The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) will host 27 face-to-face and web-based briefings during May and June as part of its continued efforts to support the quality of vocational education and training through informing and educating the sector.
ASQA Chief Commissioner Mark Paterson said the briefings were targeted at training providers, accredited course owners and developers and VET consultants and advisors.
He said similar events had been held in 2016 and 2017 and were popular with training providers and other VET sector stakeholders. In 2017, more than 5000 people registered to attend a briefing.
“ASQA is committed to providing information and guidance to assist training providers to achieve and maintain compliance with their requirements under the VET Quality Framework,” Mr Paterson said.
“Our annual round of briefings is an important part of this work. I know many providers appreciate the opportunity to engage with senior ASQA officers face-to-face to discuss important compliance-related issues and receive information about the work being undertaken by ASQA to support quality in the VET sector.”
For the first time in 2018, ASQA will hold an event specifically targeted at consultants and advisors who work with training providers to meet the requirements of the VET Quality Framework.
“Following on from a successful similar event in 2016, ASQA will also host a dedicated briefing for owners and developers of accredited course,” Mr Paterson said.
