Extension of implementation date for new TAE credential requirements to 1 July 2019

The requirement for trainers and assessors to hold updated qualifications will now come into effect on 1 July 2019. The change was previously scheduled to come into effect on 1 April 2019. Skills Ministers agreed to delay the introduction of the requirements following feedback from the vocational education and training (VET) sector. The Standards for RTOs 2015 have been amended accordingly.

The Department of Education and Training has advised there will be no further extensions beyond 1 July 2019. All RTOs need to remind trainers and assessors of their responsibility to meet the new requirements.
