Third-party agreements for VET in schools
Schools registered to deliver VET
Schools need to be a registered provider to deliver VET courses.
Registered schools and VET providers can only deliver VET courses listed on their scope on the national register, training.gov.au.
A school not registered to deliver a VET course (not on their scope) can use a third party (registered VET provider) to deliver the VET course.
They can enter a third-party agreement for the registered provider to deliver a VET course for them.
They don’t need the course on their scope to enter the third-party agreement.
The third party always needs the course on its scope of registration.
The agreement needs to outline the services and facilities provided by the school and the third party.
This includes:
- enrolments
- training and assessment
- AQF certificates
The registered provider would enter a third-party arrangement with the school.
Schools not registered to deliver VET
Schools not registered to deliver VET courses can approach you, the registered provider, to deliver a VET course for them.
You need to have the course on your current scope of registration and a written third-party agreement to provide this service.
The written third-party agreement is between you, the principal provider, and the school, the third party receiving the services.
The third-party agreement needs to outline the roles and responsibilities of the principal provider and the third party.
The school provides the facilities, resources and support staff for the services covered in the agreement.
You would provide:
- enrolment
- training and assessment
- AQF certification
