Annual Declaration on Compliance – 1 February 2024

12 January 2024

The Annual Declaration on Compliance (ADC) 2024 will begin on 1 February 2024.

The declaration is a regulatory requirement and can only be completed by the person who is legally responsible for the registration of the RTO (the Chief Executive Officer).

On 1 February 2024, ASQA will email RTO CEOs a unique weblink to the online declaration.

To inform all RTO CEOs of this year’s process, and to provide information on how to prepare for the ADC, ASQA sent an email yesterday, 11 January 2024.

If your CEO has not received the initial email from ASQA, you will need to:

  1. check their spam/junk mail folder
  2. check that the email address for your CEO contact is correctly listed on training.gov.au
  3. update the contact details in asqanet

Preparing for the ADC

Prior to the ADC process, we encourage you to:

  • check your records with us are current and accurate on asqanet
  • update any incorrect records via asqanet
  • conduct an assessment of your RTO’s compliance with the Standards and conditions of registration.

This will ensure the information that ASQA holds about your RTO is correct.

ASQA’s Self-Assessment Tool can assist in assessing compliance with legislative requirements, as well as to reflect on your RTO practices, systems and processes to identify areas for improvement.

Under the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011, you must comply with the conditions of your registration, which includes submitting an ADC under the Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations.

Do you need to submit the ADC?

New RTOs

Check your initial registration date on training.gov.au: RTOs registered from 1 January 2024 do not need to submit the ADC this year.

Only RTOs registered on or before 31 December 2023 need to submit this year’s ADC.

RTOs managed by Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA)

If the registration of your RTO is managed by QCAA, you do not need to submit the ADC to ASQA. QCAA has a separate submission process this year – contact QCAA for more information.
