Extended transition period: AHC50520 Diploma of Arboriculture
ASQA is empowered to approve transition periods longer than those detailed in Clause 1.26(a) of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015. ASQA will only consider applications for a longer transition period where it can be demonstrated that there would be genuine disadvantage to a cohort of learners if such an extension was not approved.
ASQA has approved an extended transition period for the qualification listed below.
Qualification
AHC50520 Diploma of Arboriculture
Existing transition period
Standard 12-month transition period from 30 April 2024 until 29 April 2025.
Extended transition conditions
- The approved extended transition period is from 30 April 2025 until 31 January 2026.
- The extended transition period only applies to continuing students who commence formal training and/or assessment in the qualification on or before 29 April 2025.
- All students must either complete and receive certification or be transferred to replacement courses by the new transition end date.
- The extended transition period applies to all RTOs with this qualification on scope. The qualification will remain on RTOs’ scope of registration until the end of the extended transition period.
Reason for approval
It was demonstrated to ASQA that continuing students would be genuinely disadvantaged if required to transition to the replacement qualification, as the impact of non-equivalent changes to the qualification would result in significant gap training and assessment for learners.
Consultation
ASQA consulted with the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority, the Training Accreditation Council of Western Australia and Skills Insight, the Jobs and Skills Council with oversight of the AHC training package.
