Extended transition period: superseded MEM training products until 31 December 2021

Following on from ASQA’s decision in December 2019 to extend the transition period of 10 superseded MEM qualifications, on 21 August 2020, ASQA has agreed to extend the transition period of the following qualifications further until 31 December 2021.

  • MEM30205 Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
  • MEM30305 Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade
  • MEM40105 Certificate IV in Engineering
  • MEM50105 Diploma of Engineering – Advanced Trade
  • MEM20205 Certificate II in Engineering – Production Technology
  • MEM30105 Certificate III in Engineering – Production Systems
  • MEM30605 Certificate III in Jewellery Manufacture
  • MEM30705 Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction
  • MEM30905 Certificate III in Boating Services
  • MEM31010 Certificate III in Watch and Clock Service and Repair

This transition period is also extended to all superseded MEM units of competency named within the qualifications (or view as PDF).

This extension is granted to all registered training organisations (RTOs) delivering the qualifications and units to learners. The decision extends the transition period for these RTOs to continue training, assessment and issue Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) certification.

The relevant training products will remain on the RTOs’ scope of registration until the end of the extended transition period, unless withdrawn from scope prior.
