Australian Apprenticeships
Australian apprenticeships are available to anyone of working age and offer you opportunities to learn new skills and be paid in over 500 different jobs. The Australian Apprenticeships website provides information and support for potential apprentices.

Fair Work Ombudsman
The Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) is Australia’s workplace regulator. It provides free education, assistance and advice about Australian workplace laws including for apprentices and trainees, at www.fairwork.gov.au/apprenticestrainees.
The consumer protection agency in your state or territory:
- can provide information about seeking a refund or a cancellation of your course fees
- can provide information about your rights and obligations
- may be able to help you negotiate with your training provider.

StudyAssist
Study Assist provides information for students about government assistance for financing tertiary study.

Centrelink
Centrelink is the Australian Government agency that provides income support and other assistance to students.
Study Australia
This is the official Australian Government website for information and advice about studying in Australia. Topics include visa and travel FAQs, accommodation and housing, welfare support, working while studying in Australia, and more.
Council of International Students Australia (CISA)
CISA is the national peak student representative body for international students. It represents postgraduate, undergraduate, private college, technical and further education (TAFE), English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) and foundation level students.
Overseas Students Ombudsman
The Overseas Students Ombudsman investigates complaints from overseas students about private education and training in Australia.
Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA)
Search the register of migration agents to get help with your visa.
If you are unsure who to contact for assistance for your complaint, the National Training Complaints Hotline can help refer your concerns to the most appropriate authority for further advice.
Your state or territory ombudsman may be able to help if:
- your complaint is about fees and refunds, and
- you are studying with a government-run provider (such as a TAFE).
A list of state and territory ombudsmen can be found on the Commonwealth Ombudsman website.
The VET Student Loans Ombudsman may be able to help if:
- you believe you have a VET FEE-HELP or VET Student Loans debt that you should not have
- you believe you have been treated unfairly by a VET FEE-HELP or VET Student Loan approved provider.
