ASQA announces details of fee waivers and reimbursements
The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) has today announced details about a plan to waive or reimburse some fees and charges, to help mitigate the negative financial impacts of COVID-19 on the vocational education and training (VET) sector.
To support registered training organisations (RTOs), Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) providers and accredited course owners, ASQA will:
- Waive fees and charges that have been invoiced since 1 January 2020, through 30 June 2021
- Reimburse any payments already made for invoices issued since 1 January 2020.
These measures are designed to ease financial pressure on the ongoing business operations of providers and course owners. They therefore exclude fees related to initial registration as a new VET provider, initial registration on CRICOS, and initial accreditation of new VET courses. Invoices already issued for these services are excluded from fee relief and require payment in full.
