Governance and structure
Our governance arrangements have been recently strengthened to provide additional support to our reform agenda. In August 2020, legislation passed by the Australian Parliament replaces the role of Commissioners with a CEO as the single head of the agency, supported by an Advisory Council comprised of experts from the fields of regulatory practice, sector and business engagement, and education and training. These new governance arrangements will come into effect at a time set by the Minister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business.
Our new internal structure is organised into groups and has been put in place to deliver on our reform agenda. The groups are:
- Strategy and Performance
- Registration and Risk
- Quality Assessment and Compliance
- Engagement and Education.
The CEO is supported by a Deputy CEO in the role of Executive General Manager, Quality and Risk.
Further structural changes will come into effect during 2020-21.
