Extended transition period: AHC qualifications
In some cases, ASQA is empowered to approve transition periods longer than those detailed in Clauses 1.26 (a), (b) and (c) of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015.
In accordance with the Guidance for Providers – Learner Transition, ASQA considers transition requests, where it can be demonstrated that there would be genuine disadvantage to a cohort of learners, if such an extension was not approved.
ASQA has recently approved an extended transition period for:
- AHC10216 Certificate I in Agri-food Operations
- AHC10316 Certificate I in Horticulture

The extended training, assessment and certification issuance period for these qualifications ends on 22 January 2025. It permits new enrolments and commencements in these qualifications throughout the transition period, however all students must either have completed and been issued with qualifications or statements of attainment, or transferred to a replacement qualification, by the transition end date.
The decision to extend the transition date for these qualifications was supported by Skills Impact as the Agribusiness Jobs and Skills Council.
These qualifications will remain on providers scope of registration until the end of the approved extended transition period date.
