Late registration renewal application
After the 90-day deadline has passed, you will not be able to submit a registration renewal application in asqanet. The deadline applies to providers registered under both the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 (NVR Act) and the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (ESOS Act). If you know there may be a delay in making your renewal application, you should notify ASQA at the earliest possible opportunity - where possible, prior to the 90-day deadline.
You must detail the reasons for the delay for ASQA to consider your request. You must show that:
- you made all appropriate efforts to comply with your legislative obligations
- your reason for not applying was through no fault of your own and
- you are in a position to submit your renewal immediately (if approval is granted).
It is your responsibility to have key personnel available to meet your regulatory obligations at all times. We will not approve a shorter period in which to submit a renewal application on the basis that key staff members are unavailable.
Examples of unacceptable reasons may include:
- a decision to not pay the renewal invoice
- forgetting to make the renewal application
- failure to receive reminder notifications due to incorrect or out-of-date contact details.
To request ASQA’s approval to submit a late renewal application you must complete and submit a request for a shorter renewal application lodgement period form, which is linked below.
