Self-assurance
ASQA is taking a staged approach to promoting a culture of self-assurance and continuous improvement, to support improved training outcomes in the VET sector. This work is part of a suite of VET quality reforms aiming to improve training outcomes for students and employers.
-
Towards self-assurance
We are working with training providers to co-design a model for self-assurance.
-
Self-assurance through the Standards
In recent years, ASQA has been working closely with the sector to increase the focus on how RTOs monitor and evaluate, continuously improve and manage risk to quality training outcomes.
-
Understanding self-assurance
In 2020, we commenced a program of work to gain better understanding of self-assurance practices in the sector and used this to inform the transition of our regulatory approach with a greater focus on self-assurance.
-
Revised Standards for RTOs
The Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) is revising the Standards with the aim of providing greater clarity for RTOs and regulators, strengthening the focus on quality outcomes for learners and employers, and allowing for more flexibility and innovation in training delivery.
-
Draft Regulatory Guidelines
ASQA is developing Regulatory Guidelines to support providers’ understanding of our regulatory expectations against the revised Standards.
-
Opportunities to engage
ASQA will engage with the sector ahead of the revised Standards taking full regulatory effect on 1 July 2025. ASQA will publish an engagement calendar of events to inform and educate providers soon.
-
