Our values
At ASQA, our values underpin our mindset and behaviour, supporting us to achieve our purpose and reflecting our awareness of our role as the National VET Regulatory in the VET sector.
Our values describe who we are as a regulator, guiding how we conduct ourselves and work with our stakeholders to enact our regulatory authority.
Along with other guiding statements such as our Regulatory Risk Framework and regulatory principles, policies and practice guides, our values enable our stakeholder to understand what they can expect when interacting with us.
Our values reflect the APS Values and Code of Conduct and, in practice, create a positive culture in which we can perform efficiently and effectively as the National VET Regulator for the benefit of all Australians. These values provide a foundation for best practice and support us to go beyond, to ensure we are well-positioned to serve the students, employers and communities of the future.
Employee conduct
All Australian Public Service (APS) employees must follow the APS Code of Conduct.
The Public Service Act 1999 (the Act) requires that agencies establish written procedures for determining whether an APS employee, or a former APS employee, in the Agency has breached the Code of Conduct and the sanction (if any) that is to be imposed on an APS employee in the Agency who is found to have breached the Code of Conduct.
The code is set in section 13 of the Public Service Act 1999.
